My grandmother and I used to play a duet called heart and soul, among many other short songs. I continue to play our songs as I hum her part of the duet. It is a constant state of being stuck in a time where you long for the past, yet grateful for the precious time you were able to spend with them. I have become much more aware of the passing of time, and to learn to not fear it. It only has sharpened my need to feel present with the people I love that are still around.
